This Little Movie Goes to Market

[this is good]
I saw the crowds chanting at Market street tonight, too. Didn't people burn police cars in the original? No evidence of that, but maybe they'll add it in post-production.

It'll be interesting to see if the movie increases tourism to the Castro. I can see Twin Peaks being mobbed. Fortunately, the bartenders tend to the surly side, so I'm sure they can handle the crowd.
The riots happened after the assasination, and since they haven't done anything with Harvey's (which was Elephant Walk at the time and damaged in the riots as well) I wonder if the film is even going to cover the aftermath. If they do I figured they'd be shooting that on a soundstage or backlot rather than setting cars on fire on the streets of San Francisco.
As always Ray, great shots and analysis. I went out to be part of the March filming on Monday and it was fun. We got to express our anger over Anita Bryant and a loss of gay rights in Nebraska (or was it Wyoming). Sean Penn is looking great as the clean shaven Milk. And I realized today that I started chatting up Cleve Jones the other day in the street. I had no idea of who he was until he got up to lead us in "we've got the power to...fight back" chant in the scenes. I doubt I'll make it into the film, but it was fun.
